What Is Your Idea of Romance?

This prompt appeared on a "friend's" Facebook page.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF ROMANCE?

Without perusing comments, I knew immediately the answer and wrote the following:

Romance is sharing a Ferris Wheel ride with a woman who is a bit nervous. Waiting for your chariot to arrive, you gently squeeze her hand, move in closer and whisper in her ear that everything will be alright. Nothing can happen while your arms are wrapped around her.
When the car begins to rise swinging gently back and forth, you pull her in tighter. By the time the apex is reached, her eyes are open and she stares in wonder at the ocean and the lights below. Her body begins to relax when she looks into your eyes with a sense of unrealized confidence, deep admiration and wholly in love.
        A moment frozen in time.
Neither senses the wheel moving again, beginning it's return to earth before arcing skyward in tandem with the rising emotion and rapid beating of two hearts. She sighs contentedly and rests her head upon your shoulder. Two pairs of eyes peer beyond the horizon and ponder what the world holds in store.
        A moment frozen in time.
